Kailyn Skuban

Program Manager, IGNITE, Innovate BC

As a member of the Programs Team, Kailyn provides leadership and strategic guidance for the Ignite grant competition which funds the development of innovative new technologies in the Natural Resources, Applied Sciences and Engineering. She is responsible for the development and delivery of Ignite, overseeing ongoing review and adjudication processes, evaluation of program objectives, and strategic communications with external partners, academic institutions, government, industry stakeholders, and the technology community.

Kailyn joined the Innovate BC in 2015 and has over a decade of experience in fund development, grant writing, and program management in the charitable sector including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and Science World BC. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simon Fraser University with a specialization in Ecology & Evolution. Kailyn is an advocate for women in science & tech, a self-proclaimed science nerd, and yearns to one day to travel to space. She always has a great podcast recommendation and when not exploring or skiing the coastal mountains, can typically be found sharing her excitement for science, technology, and public art with the community. She volunteers her time as Chair of the Board for the Vancouver Mural Festival, the city’s largest celebration of public art.
